That's right President Bush is now the environment's biggest supporter, at least till the end of Earth Day. He is promoting the use of hydrogen powered vehicles, and believes hydrogen is the energy of the future. This is the same man who has given the go ahead to drill for oil in Alaska's nature reserves!!! The only reason for this new leaf is....ELECTIONS 2008!!!! As every Republican knows you gotta start early if you want to win, seems the Democrats haven't caught on yet.

A device is in the works that will allow broadcasters to to freeze a channel during commercial break, hence forcing you to watch the commercials. NOOOOOOO!!!! That's the whole beauty of TIVO to skip through the commercial fluff and get straight into the programming.

An award winning move was dealt by Press Secretary Scott McClellan when he announced his resignation. Now the winning question is did he really resign or was he politely asked to leave by the new sherriff in town, Joel Kaplan.

Well at least we know one person is not happy and that's Bush's former compadre, his right hand man, the man responsible for his success Karl Rove. He will be giving up some of his official responsibilities. I guess this will give him more time to do 'political extra curricular activities.'

Immigration reform has emerged the new hot button issue for Americans and the politicians are milking it for all it's worth. But who is responsible for making this topic rear an ugly head, Lou Dobbs.

His opinion which he disguise as 'truth' is dangerous. My opinion on him is that he is a sophisticated bigot with a microphone and unfortunately he is being listened to by the decision makers of this country; the people that vote!

Doyle, 55, was arrested Tuesday, April 4, 2006 in Maryland for using the Internet to seduce what he thought was a teenage girl. He is currently at Maryland's Montgomery County jail awaiting extradition to Florida.

CBS has Katie. Couric is scheduled to succeed Bob Schieffer as anchor of the "CBS Evening News" and also become a regular on "60 Minutes."

The deal would make Couric the first solo female network news anchor. Looks like CBS evening news is about to become a little brighter and dark mornings
are ahead for NBC.

This is something I thought I would never hear about. A newspaper in act of apology for something they printed has decided to shut itself down for five days!! Of course the move was politically influenced. However, in order for that same action to be adopted by the newspapers of the U.S. cows, pigs and any other farm animal would have to be pink with shoes on and have a seat in first class on a space shuttle to Mars.

Lately the media has been accused of only reporting negative stories and being used as the scapegoat in developing the ills of society. But thanks to the Associated Press Television News crew covering the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina justice will be served in the case of the 64 year old New Orleans native, Robert Davis whose brutal beating by 3 New Orleans police officers was caught on tape.

I guess the media is not so evil afterall.

President Bush said that American forces will remain in Iraq for years and it will be up to a future president to decide when to bring them all home.

As an animal rights activist I try to do my part in keeping the public informed and educated on what we as a human race do to our furry friends. Recently in the media was the plight of puppies being used as disposable drug mules buy Colombian cartels.

But unfortunately another horror story has resurfaced, the butchering of baby seals for their coveted pure white plush coats. Join Paul McCArtney in the movement to put an end to this annual bloodbath in Canada.

This man the leader of our nation, a powerhouse nation of the world never fails to blow his own horn with the skill of a dove sucking a straw. Complete idiocy!! How long have we been at war? How long did we search for Bin Laden? I guess we were all wondering when this event would happen and our President who has a keen sense of being in the know (when it matters.) was kind enough to inform us that the capture of Bin Laden will be very soon. Thank goodness we could all sleep easier at nights.

Of course this will only boost the mass support he has in India, they can't wait for him to visit. But being the charismatic leader that he is he made them wait for him while he took a carefully orchestrated surprise trip to the battlefront. His last trip was 2003.

Well we have finally reached the point of no return. The process of holding a book and turning the pages has becom too difficult for us. The easier way to read a book is online, oh and let's not forget the promotional music video that will enhance the book. Afterall what do we need our imagination for when every thought and image can be ready made for us. Thank goodness I don't have to think anymore.

How could you be the biggest fan of homeland security and not be aware that the shipping operations of six major seaports of your country have just been taken over by extended family of the evildoers!!!

Bush claims he was not aware but this revealation came after his administration approved the deal. But in the same breath his Press Secretary states that the President was aware of the process and did not consider it to be a safety issue.

I guess listening to the private conversations of the citizens of our country is more valuable to the elimination of terrorism than monitoring the operations at our ports.

China's Virtual Great Wall

China is a communist nation, therefore the thoughts of their citizens are or should be of a collective nature. They do not have access to the other side of the story only the side their government provides.

The Internet the home of free speech and every side of a story imaginable is being heavily regulated as it makes its debut in China. U.S internet providers have the audacity to try to surmount this wall by not following regulations. The ramifications of a move like this can rekindle the spirit of rebellion. Yahoo has already caused the arrest of 2 Chinese citizens by making outlawed information available.

I don't believe in communism, I believe we should all be given the right of choice, but I also believe in choosing our battles and the U.S is not ready to battle China.

Holocaust hysteria

The rage over the publication of the controversial cartoons still goes on but with a witty twist.

Hamshahri, a prominent newspaper of Iran has proposed to have a cartooon competition in response to the controversial Danish cartoons. The competition in a nutshell is to see who can produce the best caricatures of the Holocaust. This is an interesting response and it would be even more interesting to see the public reaction. Afterall it is free speech.

The freedom of speech is a right that is dear to not only to Americans but to other democratic countries of the world. Tolerance of another's culture is also a characteristic of a country that values the right of free speech. But knowlingly offending a community of people that has the tendency to be volatile in their reactions once offended is an abuse of the right of free speech.

The controversial cartoons printed in a Danish newspaper and reprinted in a French newspaper and several other European newspapers depicts the prophet Muhammad wearing a turban in the shape of a bomb with a lit fuse, show him holding a sword, with his eyes covered by a black rectangle. These images are blasphemous to Muslims and rightly so.

If a picture of Christ was altered in any way for the sake of humor every bible beating Christian, Catholic, Pentecostal, Episcopilian you name it group would descend upon that newspapers headquarters and rally for the retraction.

SuperAd Sunday

Superbowl Sunday is first about the ads then the game. This year the ads were weak, and my opinion is shared by many. Some of the favorites were Ameriquest's 'Don't judge.' campaign. One of the spots featured a lady on a dark plane trying to go to the bathroom without disturbing her fellow passengers who are asleep. As she passes the gentleman in the middle seat her clothes snag and turbulence occurs, the lights on the plane turn on and she is caught in a compromising position with the passenger in the row seat - she is straddling him, her skirt is hiked up and her blouse is unbuttoned. FEDEX had the caveman being fired for not using the carrier to deliver a package, he leaves the cave office disgruntled, kicks a small dinosaur that walked by him and then the caveman is stomped on by a mammoth, now that's karma!! Sprint and Budweiser were also hilarious.

The kidnapping of Jill Caroll

On July 7th Christian Science Monitor Reporter Jill Caroll was kidnapped and is currently being held captive for the release of all female Iraqi detainees. A total of 8 female Iraqis are being held, six are being recommended for release.

The media has been touched several times by the consequences of war. Jill Caroll is another innocent paying the price for a war courtesy the 'intelligence' of the current administration. I pray for her speedy release.

TV educates......criminals!

Criminals lik the rest of us law abiding citizens watch television. Apparently the hit educational show in a potential criminal mastermind to be's living room is CSI. Apparently the popularity of crime scene shows is enabling efficient and evidence free murders. I must admit shows such as the entire Law & Order series, CSI, Criminal Minds and Close to Home are educational and intriguing. For example I learnt from Law & Order thatI could simply destroy a body by soaking it in a bathtub of industrial strength lye and simply pull the plug. Good to know just in case I had a body removal problem. But I also want to believe that the police are also looking at the show, so they could observe and take note on the ways and means around these methods of evidence removal and perhaps have a step ahead on the criminals.

American Idol ?

The Fox hit show American Idol originally was a programme that searched the nation for the next big pop star. The competition created a chance for unknown singers to showcase their talent on a worldwide stage with the hope of winning a record contract. Lately the show has become the promoter of the '15 minutes of fame' syndrome with a dollop of malice. Simon Cowell has become the voice of our inner thoughts, the thoughts we do not share with the public for fear of being branded racist, evil, homophobic or discriminatory. Apparently our fears have been taken care of because as the ratings prove we do like to make fun of people and we don't care how it's done as long as it causes a sadistic smile to spread across our faces.

Bush and the NSA

Remember when your parents would pick up the phone in error while you were on it in the middle of one of your intimate conversations.

Nickelodeon and Kellogs Co. are being sued by insane child advocacy groups and lazy parents for promoting junk food .

Stop the presses Nick cartoons are influencing the dietary habits of our children. Sherri Carlson a mother of three who tries her best to feed her kids healthy foods is at her wits end, "...they turn on the Nickelodeon and see all those enticing junk food ads. Adding insult to injury, we enter the grocery store and see our beloved Nick characters plastered on all those junky snacks and cereals."

I wonder if these parents ever heard of the remarkable invention called the remote which enables them to change the channel. Even better, how about fulfilling their responsibility as parents and instill the value of a healthy meal and excercise.

Poor Spongebob and his friends they were not aware that in their quest to bring smiles to the faces of children, they also have to remember to put down that fried crabby pattie and pick up a salad.

Thar's oil in them wetlands!!!

Bush's relentless quest for black gold in the backyard his office provides seems to be coming to an end. Because by jove he found it!!

The Alaska wetlands will soon be infiltrated by miles of environmentally unfriendly pipes and violated by probing drills. On January 13th the Environment News Network (ENN) reports, the US Interior Department will allow Bush's cronies...ooops...I meant to say oil companies to exploit, slip of the tongue again...explore half a million acres of the Alaska North Slope.

Exploitation will take place in all the wetlands surrounding Lake Teshekpuk.
This area is the breeding ground for caribou and migratory birds.

Of course the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has put a little thought into not disturbing the environment, apparently only pipelines would be run in areas surrounding the lake and construction of the actual facilities will not be allowed. According to BLM director, Henri Bisson,"We think we have a very (environmentally) responsible proposal here." Of course, what's a line cracking underground allowing crude oil to seep into the earth. No problem there.

The Executive Director of the Audubon Society in Alaska said it best, "It's not good for the geese, it's not good for the caribou."

But the opinions of the caribou or the geese do not matter to the Bush administration because fortunately animals cannot vote.
